Under 8 focus areas 

 

At under 8s Tag Rugby is introduced to help create game like situations which introduce many of the core rugby skills including: 

 

• working as a team, spatial awareness, backwards passing and off side. 

​

• supporting team work, finding space, making and receiving passes

​

• tackling opposition by removing a tag from the tag belt (which is a precursor to getting the head into the right position to make a contact tackle at the next age level) 

​

• finally listening, respect for other players and trying your best
